On the 15th, the 133rd China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) was officially launched, of which the offline exhibition was held in 3 phases until May 5. This year's Canton Fair fully resumed offline exhibitions, opened a new exhibition hall (D area) with an area of 100,000 square meters for the first time, and normalized online operations throughout the year, attracting hundreds of thousands of buyers from more than 220 countries and regions to sign up for the exhibition, about 35,000 enterprises participated offline, and the exhibition area and the number of exhibitors reached a record high, which can be called the largest Canton Fair in history.

According to statistics, the Canton Fair closed at 6 p.m. on the first day of its opening, with 370,000 people entering the venue throughout the day, including 67,000 foreigners. There were 410,000 online participants, including 280,000 foreigners.

Canton Fair is the longest and largest comprehensive international trade event in China, and is known as "China's first exhibition". Xu Bing, spokesman of the Canton Fair, introduced that this year's Canton Fair has achieved four new breakthroughs: scale expansion, theme optimization, dual-line integration and quality improvement. As the largest edition in history, the total exhibition area increased from 1.18 million square meters to 1.5 million square meters, and the number of booths increased from 60,000 to nearly 70,000. The number of offline exhibitors increased from 25,000 to about 35,000, and more than 9,000 new exhibitors. There are nearly 40,000 online exhibition enterprises, and more than 3 million exhibits have been uploaded, including nearly 800,000 new products.

In the face of the new trend of international trade and new market demand, this year's Canton Fair has set up 3 new exhibition areas of industrial automation and intelligent manufacturing, new energy and intelligent networked vehicles, maternity and baby products, as well as 3 new special zones of smart life, "silver economy", testing and protective equipment, on the basis of maintaining 16 categories of products, the number of exhibition areas increased to 54, and the number of special zones increased to 159.

The global business community responded positively, with buyers from 226 countries and regions registering online and offline. 47 industrial and commercial institutions from Asia, Europe, America, Africa, Oceania and other places participated in the conference, including many large groups with more than 200 people; 53 leading multinational companies, including Wal-Mart of the United States, Auchan of France, and Metro of Germany, confirmed their participation.

The scale of the import exhibition has also been further expanded, reaching 30,000 square meters for the first time in all three exhibition periods, an increase of 50% over the pre-epidemic period. 508 enterprises from 40 countries and regions participated in the exhibition, of which 73% were enterprises from countries and regions along the "Belt and Road".
